An Amino Alcohol used in flavors primarily as a mild sweetener and flavor enhancer, especially in products that also offer its well-known nutritional benefits for joint and gastrointestinal health. Having a slightly sweet and more appealing taste, which makes it a preferred additive for improving the palatability of foods and beverages. As a versatile cosmetic ingredient used for its exfoliating, moisturizing, and skin-brightening properties, making it effective for anti-aging, reducing hyperpigmentation, and improving skin texture. Also a humectant, improving skin hydration and elasticity, and a precursor to hyaluronic acid, further enhancing its moisturizing and skin-firming benefits. It's a gentle alternative to AHA/BHA exfoliants.
